The Town and Village of Parish Boards will hold a joint meeting on Thursday, January 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish, New York.

The next regular meeting of the village board of the Village of Parish will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish, New York.

new There will be no parking on the Village of Parish Streets between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from November 1st, 2009 through April 1st, 2010.


Please note that, effective September 1, 2009, recyclables must be free of all plastic bags. (Plastic grocery bags can be returned to the grocery store for recycling.) Bagged recyclables will no longer be picked up. You must use a covered can or tote, labeled "recyclables". Please contact the Village of Parish with any questions regarding your curbside pickup at 315.625.4592.


The Parish Town and Village Planning Board will be meeting Monday, January 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish, New York.

The public is most welcome to attend these meetings.

The village has calculated the portion of 2008 sewer charges that are deductable on 2008 Federal taxes, and the worksheet is available below and on the Documents page.


Starting January 1, 2009, pursuant to Oswego County Recycling, all Village of Parish residents must place all recycling (paper, cardboard, jars, bottles, cans) in a trash can loose, NOT IN BAGS or they will not pick it up.

Paper work pertaining to this is available at the Village Clerks office and on the Village web site, www.villageofparish-ny.us.


Current 315 area code map

The Village of Parish has received notice from the state Public Service Commission (PSC) that the PSC is planning changes to the 315 area code. These changes may involve changes to the boundaries of the 315 area code, resulting in new area codes being assigned.

The village clerk's office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.


If you see a streetlight out near your home in the Village of Parish, get the number of the pole and call the Village Office at 315.625.4592.


Having a problem with your village sewer service? Call the Parish Wastewater Treatment Plant at 315.625.7852 to report the problem. No one there, or calling at an evening or weekend? Report emergencies at 800.880.6165 and tell the operator that you are calling from the village of Parish, and you need to speak with Steve Stauffer.

Designating Offices for the Village of Parish Election

Please Take Notice, A General Election of the Village of Parish will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. at the Mills Petrie Gym. The offices to be filled at this election are as follows; two Office of Trustees for a two-year term. Anyone interested in running for the positions available must reside in the Village of Parish and be a registered voter. Please contact Patricia French, Village at 315-625-4592. To be eligible to vote in the March election, one must be registered with the Oswego County Board of Elections by March 5, 2010.

VILLAGE OF PARISH - NOTICE OF TAX WARRANT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Pursuant to Section 1428 of the Real Property Tax Law, I, Tax Collector for the Village of Parish, have received and filed the Tax Roll and Warrant for the collection of Village Taxes for the fiscal year June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010 from the hours of 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. On July 1, 2009 a penalty of five (5%) will be added. In the months that remain a one percent (1%) penalty will be added until November 1st, 2009. After November 15th 2009 the remaining Taxes will be submitted to Oswego County to be relevied on the 2010 County / Town Taxes. The Village of Parish tax rate per 1,000 of assessed valuation is $5.72.
