RURAL HIGHSPEED INTERNET ACCESS MEETING
The Salmon Rivers Council of Governments and the Parish Economic Development Task Force will co-host a meeting to be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the APW High School Auditorium on emerging options for high-speed Internet access for areas that currently have no or limited options. Many area residents and businesses would like high-speed Internet access but do not have that option available to them. Emerging technologies promise to extent high-speed Internet further than has been possible in the past.
A representative of New Visions Powerline Communications Inc. ( www.nvplc.com ) will be present to discuss the technology of broadband over power lines (BOPL), and the new possibilities that this emerging technology presents.
Local businesses and the general public are cordially invited to attend this informational meeting, to learn more about new options emerging in the world of high-speed Internet service.

The Salmon Rivers Council of Governments is a cooperative efforts between the towns and villages in the northeastern part of Oswego County. The towns and villages work together on projects of common interest, and share information and experience. These include economic development and tourism, and water and sewer development.
